No, at Fly Kitesurf School we offer lessons for all levels, from beginners to advanced. Our instructors will guide you step-by-step, regardless of whether it's your first time or if you already have some experience.
Is there a weight limit for kitesurfing?
There is no strict weight limit, but it's important to keep in mind that the heavier you are, the more wind you will need and the larger the kite you will require. Our instructors will advise you on the most suitable equipment for your weight and size.
Is kitesurfing dangerous?
As with any water sport, kitesurfing does carry certain risks if not practiced with proper precautions and knowledge. At Fly Kitesurf School, safety is our top priority. Our instructors will teach you to handle the equipment safely and provide you with all the necessary gear.
How long does it take to learn kitesurfing?
The time required to learn the basics of kitesurfing varies depending on the student and the course format. In our personalized courses, most beginners are able to get up on the board and ride in around 4-6 hours of instruction. However, the ultimate progress will depend on the student.
What equipment do I need for kitesurfing with you?
At FKS, we provide all the necessary equipment, including kite, bar, board, harness, helmet and wetsuit. You only need to bring what you would bring to a day at the beach: comfortable clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen...
Where do the lessons take place?
We primarily hold our classes in El Cotillo, considered one of the best spots in Fuerteventura (with consistent wind and flat waters). The beach classes will take place in an open space with the sand as the surface. The water classes will take place in the area known as the laguitos del Cotillo, composed of various ponds and bays with flat waters, perfect for learning.
What if there is no wind on the day of my lesson?
At FKS, we have the flexibility to reschedule your lessons in case the weather conditions are not suitable. Although we have specialized equipment for "light wind" conditions, we will ensure that you can enjoy your lessons in the best possible conditions.
